Meeting Topic: Emotional Intelligence Employee Development Blueprint

Speaker: Jill Cory, The Emotional Intelligence Training Co. Inc.

About the presentation: ‘Emotional Intelligence’ has been around for 3 decades, has an entire center dedicated to its study at Yale University and has been identified by the World Economic Forum as a Top 10 employability skill. What exactly is EI? Why is it important for HR professionals? And is there a model of EI that could act as a blueprint for developing employees?

Join Jill Cory, coach and leadership development specialist, as she reviews the model of EI that is the basis for the world’s first scientific measure of emotional intelligence, the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-I 2.0), first published in 1997 and now used by leading companies such as Google, Nike, Amazon, Microsoft, as the basis for their leadership development programs.

Participant learning objectives:

  • Define and describe a helpful model of emotional intelligence for employee and leadership development
  • Apply the model to identify areas of developmental focus
  • Take away ideas to improve their own EI and that of their employees
