Lincoln College-Normal will be offering the SHRM Essentials of HR Management series beginning in October. The program is an introductory course offering a comprehensive overview of the human resource function.
Offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resources
Management (SHRM), this course covers real-life HR issues, including employment
law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, the employee performance
process, and much more. The course also covers key information on recent
compliance issues.
This program is designed for entry-level HR professionals,
small business owners responsible for the HR function in their companies, and
people looking into HR as a career-change possibility. In addition, current HR
practitioners who need to increase their knowledge base can benefit from the
course focus. This program is not the same as the SHRM Learning
System Course which provides preparation for the PHR and SPHR designation exams.
For those already certified as PHR or SPHR, the Essentials provides up to 12
hours of recertification credits.
Classes will be on Wednesday nights for four consecutive
weeks beginning on October 6th. Students receive a Resource Book, access to a
website with activities and reinforcement quizzes, and benefit from a classroom
instructor/facilitator for the course duration. A certificate of completion will
be awarded to those who successfully complete the program. The classes will be
held at Lincoln College-Normal. Further information and a Registration site
are included in the link below.
