PRESIDENT
Position Summary: Provide leadership to the local chapter consistent with state, area, and national Society policy, strategies and objectives. Effectively operate the chapter so that the needs of the members are met. Perform other duties as required by the local chapter's bylaws. Serve as a voting member of the State Council.

The members of the chapter's Executive Board
The State Council Director
Responsibilities:
Conducts the business of the chapter in accordance with the chapter bylaws and serves as chairperson of the Executive Board.
Presides over the activities of all officers and committee chairs to ensure the accomplishment of chapter goals, objectives, and strategies.
Provides updates at monthly Executive Board and chapter meetings and in the newsletter, as needed.
Monitors the use, accounting, and handling of the chapter funds.
Attends and presides over all monthly Executive Board and chapter meetings. Appoints proxy to chair when unable to attend.
Appoints members to act as selection committees for BNHRC awards and/or scholarships as necessary.
Participates in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic planning for the chapter.
Maintains a current, active SHRM membership.
Attends State Council meetings and actively participates in State Council matters. Provides information to State Council as an elected representative of the chapter. Appoints proxy to attend State Council meetings when unable to attend.
Maintains communication with the State Council Director and the SHRM Area Manager.
Communicates state, area and/or national goals, policies, and programs to chapter members. Represents the State Council to local chapter leaders and the membership.
Transmits all necessary annual election information to the membership and informs SHRM Area Manager of the results.
Represents the chapter in the Human Resources community.
Requirements:
Must be an SHRM member in good standing elected by the chapter membership.
